CATEGORIES OF DRUGS

마약의 분류

 

The most common illegal drugs encountered in the UK are classed as follows:

영국에서 가장 흔히 볼 수 있는 불법마약류는 다음과 같이 분류된다:

 

 

Class A (A급)

-      Heroin (Diamorphine) 헤로인

-      Cocaine and crack cocaine 코카인과 흡연용 코카인

-      Ecstasy (MDMA)  엑스타시 합성 마약

-      LSD (‘Acid’)  LSD 환각제

-      Magic mushrooms 매직 버섯

 

Class B (B급)

-      Amphetamine 암페타민

-      Cannabis and cannabis resin 대마초

 

Class C (C급)

-      Ketamine 케타민

 

 

OFFENCES RELATING TO DRUGS

마약 관련 범죄

 

The following are criminal offences in England and Wales:

다음은 잉글랜드와 웨일즈 지역에서 범죄행위로 간주된다:

 

1. Importing or exporting an illegal drug:

불법 마약류를 수입/수출 하는 행위

 

•      The maximum sentence is life imprisonment for an offence involving Class A drugs

A급 마약류를 다루었을 때 최고형량은 무기징역

•      The maximum sentence is 14 years’ imprisonment for an offence involving Class B drugs

B급 마약류를 다루었을 때 최고형량은 14년 징역형

•      The maximum sentence is 14 years’ imprisonment for an offence involving C drugs

C급 마약류를 다루었을 때 최고형량은 14년 징역형

 

 

2. Supplying illegal drugs to another person, offering to supply illegal drugs to another person, or being concerned in the making of an offer to supply illegal drugs to another person:

타인에게 불법 마약류를 공급하거나, 타인에게 불법마약류를 공급해 줄 제안을 하거나, 타인에게 불법마약류 공급제안에 관여하는 행위

 

•      Supply’ includes distributing e.g. so you would be guilty of an offence of supplying drugs if you passed a reefer cigarette on to someone so that he may take a draw.

‘공급’이라는 개념에는 ‘배포’의 개념도 포함 – 만약 본인이 마약이 담긴 파이프를 핀 후 타인도 필 수 있도록 그에게 파이프를 넘겨준 경우에도 마약 공급 범죄를 저지른 것으로 간주함

•      It also includes social supply so that it is not necessary for you to make a profit e.g. you would be guilty of an offence of supplying drugs if you bought an amount of cocaine or cannabis in bulk for the purpose of dividing it up with your friends (who each paid for their own share).

금전적 이익을 위한 행위가 아니라 사교 목적으로 마약을 공급했을 경우의 개념도 포함 – 친구들과 나누어 피기 위해 코카인과 대마초를 친구들의 돈을 각출하여 구입한 경우에도 범죄 행위로 간주함

•      The maximum sentence is life imprisonment for an offence involving Class A drugs

A급 마약류를 다루었을 때 최고형량은 무기징역

•      The maximum sentence is 14 years’ imprisonment for an offence involving Class B drugs

B급 마약류를 다루었을 때 최고형량은 14년 징역형

•      The maximum sentence is 14 years’ imprisonment for an offence involving C drugs

C급 마약류를 다루었을 때 최고형량은 14년 징역형

 

 

3. Producing an illegal drug, being concerned in the production of a controlled drug, or  cultivating cannabis:

불법마약류를 생산하거나, 마약류를 생산에 관여하거나 대마를 재배한 행위

 

•      It is an offence even to produce an illegal drug or to cultivate cannabis for your own personal consumption.

본인 개인의 사용만을 위해 마약을 생산하거나 대마를 재배하는 행위도 범죄행위로 간주함

•      The maximum sentence is life imprisonment for an offence involving Class A drugs

A급 마약류를 다루었을 때 최고형량은 무기징역

•      The maximum sentence is 14 years’ imprisonment for an offence involving Class B drugs

B급 마약류를 다루었을 때 최고형량은 14년 징역형

•      The maximum sentence is 14 years’ imprisonment for an offence involving C drugs

C급 마약류를 다루었을 때 최고형량은 14년 징역형

 

 

4. Being in possession of an illegal drug:

불법 마약류를 소지한 행위

 

•      It is an offence to have illegal drugs in your possession even if they are solely for your own personal consumption.

본인 개인의 사용만을 위하여 불법 마약을 소지하는 행위도 범죄행위로 간주함

•      The maximum sentence is 7 years’ imprisonment for an offence involving Class A drugs

A급 마약류를 다루었을 때 최고형량은 7년 징역형

•    The maximum sentence is 5 years’ imprisonment for an offence involving Class B drugs

B급 마약류를 다루었을 때 최고형량은 5년 징역형

•    The maximum sentence is 2 years’ imprisonment for an offence involving C drugs

C급 마약류를 다루었을 때 최고형량은 2년 징역형

 

 

5. Being in possession of an illegal drug with the intent to supply it to another person:

타인에게 제공할 목적으로 불법 마약을 소지한 행위

•      This includes being in possession of illegal drugs with the intention of supplying them only to your friends, i.e. social supply.

사교행위를 목적으로 소지한 경우도 포함됨

•      The maximum sentence is life imprisonment for an offence involving Class A drugs

A급 마약류를 다루었을 때 최고형량은 무기징역

•      The maximum sentence is 14 years’ imprisonment for an offence involving Class B drugs

B급 마약류를 다루었을 때 최고형량은 14년 징역형

•      The maximum sentence is 14 years’ imprisonment for an offence involving C drugs

C급 마약류를 다루었을 때 최고형량은 14년 징역형

 

 

 6. Knowingly permitting certain drug related activities to take place on your premises

본인의 거주지 내에서 마약 사용 행위를 허락한 행위

 

•      This includes allowing your premises to be used to produce drugs, to supply drugs, to prepare drugs or for smoking drugs (a ‘crack house’)

본인의 거주지 내에서 마약을 생산하거나, 마약을 제공하거나, 마약을 준비하거나 마약을 흡연하는 행위를 포함

•      The maximum sentence is 14 years’ imprisonment for an offence involving Class A drugs

A급 마약류를 다루었을 때 최고형량은 14년 징역형

•      The maximum sentence is 14 years’ imprisonment for an offence involving Class B drugs

B급 마약류를 다루었을 때 최고형량은 14년 징역형

•      The maximum sentence is 14 years’ imprisonment for an offence involving C drugs

C급 마약류를 다루었을 때 최고형량은 14년 징역형
