Musical 'HAN' 뮤지컬 '한' 공연 일정 안내 > 이런저런이야기

안녕하세요 저는 지금 골드스미스에서 MA Musical Theatre 과정을 밟고 있는 정연희 입니다.

저희 뮤지컬 연극학과 석사생들이 함께 모여 코벤트 가든에 있는 극장에서 창작 뮤지컬 페스티벌을 준비하고 있습니다.  

올해는 ‘Going for Gold’라는 타이틀로 페스티벌을 준비하고 있습니다.

이번 년도 이 과의 4개의 뮤지컬 중 한국 위안부 여성 피해자의 이야기를 바탕으로 한 뮤지컬이 올려지게 되어 이렇게 글을 올리게 되었습니다.

뮤지컬 ‘한은 새로운 창작 뮤지컬이며 2016년 9월 15-17일 런던 Tristan Bates Theatre에서 그 첫 데뷔 무대를 선보일 예정입니다. 저희 팀은 주인공 배우 두분과 작곡가인 저를 제외한 모든 분들이 위안부 여성에 관심을 가지고 있는 외국 분들입니다. 짧게 저희 팀을 소개 해 드리면 미국인 프로듀서, 이탈리아에서 온 세트디자이너, 그리스에서 온 연출가, 작가는 태국인 입니다.

공연 티켓은 Tristan Bates Theatre 홈페이지에서 구입이 가능 하십니다. 

한장의 티켓당 두개의 뮤지컬이 포함되어 있습니다. (각 공연 당 40분 러닝타임)

목요일, 토요일 (15일,17일) 티켓은 한장(뮤지컬 두개) 당 12파운드이며 학생할인도 있습니다(10파운드-학생카드 지참해 주세요^^).

금요일 (16일)은 티켓 한장에 뮤지컬 세개를 보실 수 있으시고 15파운드 입니다 학생은 12파운드 입니다.

많이 바쁘셔서 뮤지컬 '한'만 보고싶으신 분 들은 티켓 값이 조금은 아깝지만 

뮤지컬과 뮤지컬 사이에 20분의 쉬는 시간이 있으니, 그 시간에 맞춰 오셔도 됩니다. 

그러실 경우 참고하실 순서는 목,금 에는 두번째 순서, (전체공연 목-7:30, 금-7시 시작 )

토요일에는 첫번째 순서입니다. (전체 공연 2시 시작)

영어로 된 뮤지컬이기에 외국 친구분들께 소개해주셔도 좋을것 같습니다.

Han is set around World War II, during Japan’s invasion of Korea, and is based on the life Sunja, a captive Korean comfort woman. The musical follows her and the hardships she faces as she tries to escape from the Imperial Army.  Han features a new musical score which intertwines the Japanese national anthem and Korean folk songs to create a haunting new musical. 

Han is a new original musical that will be debuting at the Tristan Bates Theatre from September 15-17th, 2016. As part of the Going for Gold Festival produced by the MA students of Goldsmiths, University of London. 

HAN artistically portrays the experiences of the comfort women a sensitive historical issue between Korea and Japan, which remains unresolved to this day. Comfort women were women and girls who were captured and forced into sexual slavery by the Imperial Japanese Army whose occupation reigned before and during World War II. The Japanese government still has not acknowledged or apologised in regards to the actions during the war. The topic of the comfort women still is a dark and painful subject that affects Korean society. HAN displays a story of war, violence, suffering, aggression, victims, but most importantly women. The women whose stories have not been told. HAN reaches out to expose the story of the comfort women.

Of course, through the story line, the violence and oppression which Koreans truly suffered will be shown. Since we are the ‘female’ team that is comprised of Korean, Thai, and American, we are approaching and understanding the sensitive issue clearly and carefully. The performance will depict Korean tragedies from the past. It will not be a Korean-sided story however, we will try not to distort or stab the Koreans’ sorrow through the show.
