2015년 9월에 영국에 첫 입국하여 올해 9월이면 영국에 연속적으로 거주한지 10년이 됩니다.
10년 영주권 (Indefinite leave to remain - long residence)을 신청하려 준비 중에 궁금한 점이 생겨, 혹시 저와 비슷한 경험이 있으신 분이 계실까 하여 여쭤 봅니다.
현재 Graduate Scheme 비자를 소지 하고 있고, 올해 6월에 만료 됩니다. 다행히도 현재 다니고 있는 직장에서 취업비자 (Skilled Worker visa)를 스폰해준다고 해서 영주권 신청까지 필요한 기간은 채울 수 있을듯 합니다. 다만, 영국 정부 홈페이지를 보니 이런 내용이 있었습니다 (https://www.gov.uk/long-residence/eligibility).
'You'll usually need to have held your current permission for one year'
혹시 이 내용이,
1) 영주권 신청 시 현재 소지 하고 있는 비자를 가지고 1년 이상 있었어야 한다.
2) 영주권 신청 시 현재 소지 하고 있는 비자 총 기간이 1년 이상이어야 한다.
둘 중 어떤 내용을 의미 하는지 궁금합니다. 1번 또는 2번에 따라 회사에 요청할 취업비자 기간이 달라지고, 영주권 신청 시기가 크게 달라질듯 하여 여쭤봅니다.
혹시 저와 비슷한 상황에 계셨던 분들 중 영주권 신청 경험을 공유해주시면 많은 도움이 될 것 같습니다.

Yes, if you extend your skilled worker visa for one year in June, you should be eligible to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) in September, provided that:
10-Year Rule: By September, you will have completed 10 years of continuous lawful residence in the UK. This is the primary requirement for ILR under the long residence route.
Valid Leave at Time of Application: At the time of your ILR application, your Skilled Worker visa should still be valid (which it would be if extended in June for one year).
28-Day Rule: You can apply for ILR up to 28 days before completing the 10-year lawful residence period. Since you entered the UK in September 2015, you can apply for ILR starting from late August 2025.
The "You'll usually need to have held your current permission for one year" clause should not pose a problem. This requirement is generally interpreted in the context of other visa categories (e.g., if you're switching from some temporary statuses).
